The SunWatch Village is located in Dayton, OH and serves as an educational center and archaeological park for the Fort Ancient culture.
Also known as the "Incinerator Site", SunWatch was excavated in the 1960s by archaeologists who later were involve in saving the site from becoming a sewage treatment plant. During its excavation in the 1970s, the village site was revealed, spanning roughly 3 acres. The village appeared to be planned and aligned with astronomical phenomena.
The site became open to the public in 1988, and was reconstructed to represent the village with structures in their original locations.
